Known as the biggest tuning competition in the auto industry,the power gathering Tuning Grand Prix 2008 has designated it`s winners.The race in Hockenheimring Germany was dominated at the GT class by the Porsche monsters from TechArt.

MTM entered the competition with six cars: Audi A5 Clubsport Diesel (Diesel category ), RS4 Clubsport (limousine category), S1 ( Youngtimer class), S5 GT Supercharged (coupe/cabrio class), S3 Clubsport (compact class) and R8 Supercharged (GT class).

MTM won 3 first places and 2 “bronz medals”(3rd place). R8 Supercharged won the fastest car on the competition title.

Now here are MTM`s results in the competition:

MTM-Audi A5 TDI Clubsport – driven by Florian Gruber – 300 PS – 1:14,812 – Diesel – 1st place

MTM-Audi RS4 Clubsport – driven by Florian Gruber – 540 PS – 1:10,794 – Sedan – 1st place

MTM-Audi S1 - driven by Dieter Heubacher – 530 PS – 1:12,193 – Youngtimer – 1st place

MTM-Audi S5 GT Supercharged – driven by Rudolf Brandl – 500 PS – 1:14,910 – Coupe/Convertible – 3rd place

MTM Audi S3 Clubsport - driven by Rudolf Brandl – 380 PS – 1:14,276 – Compact – 3rd place

MTM Audi R8 Supercharged – driven by Florian Gruber – 550 PS – 1:10,528 – GT – fastest R8

The specialists at TehcArt managed to obtain the prize of the fastest tuned on the Hockenheim circuit.

The Hockenheim circuit was the witness of a close competition between the greatest European tuning companies,most of them germans.On the famous circuit the Tuner Grand Prix tournament was organized,to decide which is the fastest modified car by the european tuning companies.

The grand prize was given to TechArt.They competed at the GT category with a model “baptized” GTstreet RS,based on a Porsche GT2.The TechArt monster was driven to the success by the experienced pilot Jorg Hardt,who drives in the Carrera Cup. TechArt also won first prize at the convertible class where GTstreet Cabrio passed by the competition with no problems.

The base version of GTstreet, modified by TechArt,we can say that it had 630 Hp,capable to launch the Coupe up to 345km/h.But in the GTstreet RS version,TechArt thought that they will need a bigger power baggage to win the Tuner Grand Prix.That`s why they placed a better engine in the RS.A 700 hp engine with 860Nm of torque.

The suspension made by TechArt in collaboration with Bilstein set specially for the german circuit are another characteristic for the victorious GTstreet RS. TechArt hasn`t neglected the tires either.The winning tires are Michelin Sport Cup Plus of 245/30 front and 315/25 back, hosted by 20″ wheels.
