Sources at Spanish automaker Seat have told Autocar that the Seat IBE “will be made.” The all-electric concept debuted last week at the Geneva Motor Show.
In addition to the 2+2 coupe EV, the VW-owned company is also said to be working on a petrol/electric hybrid based on the next Volkswagen Golf platform. A Seat Leon plug-in hybrid is also planned for release in 2014.
The company’s extensive push into alternatively-powered cars is reportedly based on the large amount of encouragement coming from Spain’s national government for the production of those vehicles. Spain has spent a great deal of resources expanding renewable energy. The country hopes that 30% of its 2010 energy needs will be provided by renewable sources.
At Geneva, the IBE Concept was shown with a 75-kiloWatt (101-hp / 102-PS) motor that produces up to 200Nm (147 ft-lb) of torque. The car sprints to 50 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and 100 km/h in 9.4s. The 3.78-meter long coupe weighs 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs).
Porsche 918 Spyder concept will be revealed to the public at the Geneva Motor Show.
Porsche 918 Spyder concept is powered by a v8 500Hp engine and 2 electric engines that produce 160hp.With all this power the concept reaches 100km/h in 3.2 and has a top speed of about 320km/h.With these impressive numbers Porsche 918 Spyder concept can run 126miles per gallon.Thank God for hybrid cars,we just hope it will not be long until hybrid cars will be something normal.
